The way you hear me talk about Black Flag, you would be forgiven for thinking that I hate it. It’s understand given how much I’ve criticized the game over the course of this playthrough. And yet, I am enjoying my time with the game. If I wasn’t at least interested, I would have stopped playing by now. I’ve done this once with The Council and I wouldn’t hesitate to do it a second time.
To be honest, Black Flag is mostly serving as a vehicle for me to work through how I feel about the Ubisoft of yesteryear and how the Ubisoft of today fails to live up to it. I am actively processing my grief for that loss in real time, along with my chat.
When time comes for the post-game conversation, I think I’ll have more to say on this matter.
