We don’t have all the clues we need to save our Mother yet, but we know where they are. Luckily for us, we can pick them up along the way as we finish this in-progress run of The Rogue Prince of Persia.

I wish I knew more people who played this game so I could compare notes with them. To me, it is on the easier side of the games I have played both in the roguelike and platforming genres. Even with a high Awakening score from imposing a bunch of optional difficulty modifiers on myself, I still have very little trouble blazing through each region. I think you can even count the number of times I died during this Let’s Play on one hand.
And yet, there’s a part of me that hesitates to call it easy precisely because I have so much experience with both genres. Would someone without the firm grounding I possess struggle in ways that I couldn’t even begin to understand? Is there some barrier I easily surmounted that a novice would struggle through?
But I suppose most people my age grew up on PS1/PS2-era platformers, so that might be asking for something I can’t reasonably get.
