Looks like we’ve found our place in “the life”, but how far can we go in Mafia: The Old Country.

This, to me, is one of the most important sections of the game. In less than one year, Enzo has taken a complete 180. Where once he was a poor worker in a sulfur mine, standing up to Don Spadaro , here he is breaking a workers’ strike for one of Don Torrisi’s quarries.
Even scarier than the change itself is just how seamless the transformation was. Over the course of this chapter and the previous one, we are exposed to ever increasing amounts of violence, actively participating in it. Slowly, Enzo is being inured to the idea of strong arming and intimidating innocent people on behalf of the organization who took him in. Any resistance he may have had to the idea was broken down through the combination of a warm welcome, his daily needs finally being met, and the slow, steady, gradual escalation of violence.
And as the player, we are with him the entire way.
