This episode reminds me of the episode of the Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood Let’s Play, where I accidentally trigger the Da Vinci Disappearance DLC.
I’m starting to notice a pattern with these Definitive Edition collections and the DLCs that come with them, where the new content is crudely inserted in ways that obfuscate the content that’s already there. In a world where I’m buying the DLC myself, either after beating the game or deciding that I want to play it, this can make sense. The intrusion is minimal because I am choosing when it gets inserted into my experience.
When we’re discussing versions of the game with the DLC packed in my default, it can negatively impact the experience. I triggered DLCs on accident two times in a row, back to back.
Perhaps I will go back and do them, but as someone who is aiming to stick to the critical path, it’s irritating to dance around them.
