After a bit of poking and prodding, I managed to figure out a solution to the issues we were experiencing at the end of the last stream. Our quest to find a fool begins anew.

I was honestly surprised to hear that the narrator for this game had such a mixed reception when I started reading criticism of the game after finishing it myself. I didn’t have this problem. Yet having heard the criticism, I understand where it is coming from.
The actress was given a clear direction to play up the rasp in her voice, in order to give CASCADE’s internal monologue a sense of intrigue, befitting an “international woman of mystery” that one might read about in a spy novel. I can’t claim I was hot on it at first, but I was fine with it. Eventually, it grew on me.
That said, I am also someone who will start skipping voice over because I read faster than a voice over actor can narrate. I can imagine someone who is more focused on the vocal performance, or someone who needs the narration to really get immersed in the fiction (or for a stream like this one), might have a different experience. Doubly so if they find it as distracting as I’ve seen on Reddit and Steam forums, and experienced with Andre here.
I find this whole discussion fascinating in a way I didn’t expect when going into the Let’s Play.
