I’m genuinely struck by how Ultimate Spider-man is all killer, no filler. Every single mission is doing something unique and different compared to the rest of the game.
Someone in the development team seemed to realize that all the “filler” content one would normally shove into the main plot of a video game could be safely sectioned off into the side objectives so that players who just want to enjoy the campaign can mostly do that unobstructed.
In the modern world of 20 hour games with 10 hours worth of ideas, that’s such a refreshing change of pace.
