For those interested in what happens to the CEO after this, here’s a video of the optional mission from Watch_Dogs where he’s assassinated by Aiden Pearce.
Since Olivier is canonically killed between Black Flag and Rogue, there’s a strong implication that Assassin’s Creed and Watch_Dogs take place in the same setting. I’ve heard many people attempt to extrapolate this into a “Ubiverse” where every Ubisoft game that takes place in a realistic modern world happens in this same timeline, but I’ve never put much stock in that concept myself.
This was around the time when the Marvel Cinematic Universe was just starting to take off, so there was an impulse both from fans and publishers of all sorts of franchises to establish their own “cinematic universes” where they could.
Now, we can’t blame Assassin’s Creed or Ubisoft for kicking off the “multiverse/crossover” trend that we see so much, where every big movie or franchise needs to have its own Fortnite skin or some other such crossover with a live-service game, but the connective tissue is there. The “Ubiverse” is part of that through-line.
