Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – Part 8-2 (Finale)
At last, we’re ready to tie up all remaining loose ends… for the most part.

Which the plot involving Juno, the Sages, Abstergo Entertainment, and the modern day ultimately goes nowhere and does nothing substantial, I like how Edward Kenway’s plot concludes. The conversation with his daughter on the ship is an excellent capstone on the adventure, as she inadvertently tears him down in the way children often do without realizing. It forces Edward to make peace with the harm he’s inflicted upon the family he left and try to make something out of what remains.
And it also comes on the heels of another reminder of the friends who have perished during this life in his life, who didn’t get the second chance he’s making for himself in this moment. It’s a message of hope tinged with melancholy, and the duality at play sells the story’s believably.
Though Black Flag takes too long to get there, it does eventually get there.
