There is some beautifully poetic about an almost literal specter of a bitter and hateful past being the catalyst for a catastrophic class war than would have resulted in untold death had we done nothing to intervene. Unlike many similar games, there is no grand sweeping conspiracy or machinations at the center of this case, even if some way exist around it.
No. This was nothing more than an almost random act of violence perpetrated by a person so out of time, and out of touch, that they can no longer meaningfully interact with the world around them except through the violence conducted at the end of a scope: Beautiful, tragic, and somber all at the same time.
As Ekvall said in the Hauntology essay we discussed last time, he may be the murderer we’re looking for, but it was Revachol’s revolutionary past that killed the mercenary.
