Disco Elysium – Part 3-3
We’ve made enough progress on the case than it seems like a good idea to talk to the union rep one more time.
So let’s go ahead and see what he has to tell us.

Something I’m only noticing now, as I play through this game with more scrutiny, is that way the game ensures there are multiple routes to achieve the same end, and often routes that don’t seem terribly obvious until we have the full context.
For example, I’m fairly certain that if we discovered that secret entrance early on, and found our jacket dangling inside the union territory, we could have used that jump to bypass the need to confront Measurehead, similar to how we might have been able to delay going to see him if we successfully shot the body down from the tree.
Now that we’ve been to the pawn shop, I imagine that if someone managed to get through the Day without talking to Evrart Claire, this would’ve been the clue we could use to start tracking down our missing badge and gun.
Obviously, since this is a video game, there are only so many ways the developers can account for player action, but it is a good sign to see that the team thought to make sure that players were ultimately funneled to their final destination no matter how badly they bungle things up.
