Disco Elysium is a particularly lore heavy game, and we’re about to approach a very lore heavy series of conversations. However, since we have a brief lull here, let us take a moment to talk about something outside the game that I appreciate.
Just for doing this channel, I get Copyright notices from YouTube constantly, often for in-game soundtracks being flagged by their algorithms. I point this out because even outside of their writing, the creators of the game practice what they preach.
What they chose to do was upload all of their soundtrack to YouTube to claim ownership of it, but also explicitly flagged it in YouTube’s algorithms as okay to use, so that the system knows not to put Copyright claims on videos like mine.
It’s something I wish more companies and developers would do to make the lives of creators like me easier.
