We have finally encountered the troubles with terrible checkpoints in older video games, and for that reason we have to replay an entire ten minute chunk after encountering issues with it.

If you somehow don’t know the origin of “Inflates you making you big and round“, I encourage you to look it up for yourself because it is an absolutely batshit thing to say even in full context.
Having said that, I must own up to my own mistakes that caused us to lose a solid twenty minutes replaying the same mission a total of three times. I genuinely did not see the car there, nor the prompt telling us to get into Eddie’s car. The game still probably could do a better job with checkpoints, but there was no technical issue, only a skill issue.
When a game is more stable, it’s easier for the player to assume that they’re missing something. But since we’ve seen so many glitches in our time with Mafia 2, it’s more reasonable to assume that the game is acting up.
That’s the price of shipping an unstable game.
