The Rogue Prince of Persia – Part 1-1
No trouble at the Disco this week, so instead let’s take a short break to play something different. Taking a moment to return to the mines of Ubisoft, this is The Rogue Prince of Persia.

Before choosing to play Disco Elysium, I was in the process of compiling potential candidates for stream games after the Assassin’s Creed series was complete. Around that time, I had just purchased The Rogue Prince of Persia believing it to be finished. (As it turned out, I was about a month or two off.) And yet, I quickly fell in love with the game just through the act of playing it. Similar to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, another game on my stream list, it held true to the core Prince of Persia experience I wanted while doing something unique and refreshing with those mechanics, in this case marrying them with the roguelike formula Evil Empire’s team had nurtured with their work on Dead Cells.
The end result is a harmonious blend between the two gameplay styles. As we progress through our opening runs, it is my hope that you begin to feel that the way I did when I started out.
(PS: Please ignore the fact that I kept saying the intro cutscene didn’t play despite the fact that it very clearly did. I guess I was just so busy talking that I didn’t notice. Shame on me.)
