007 First Light – Part 3-4
We know who the big bad is now, but we just need the evidence to prove it.
Streamed on my Twitch.

The controls for First Light are weird. For most of the runtime, they absolutely do the job and do it well. Yet I keep fumbling on them in the moments where it matters most.
One of the most obvious times is when I’m engaged in melee with enemies that charge at me. We’re supposed to dodge them in order to trip them up, but I can’t seem to get the dodge right consistently. Thus, I’m always tanking attacks from them, which sucks because they hurt more than any other attack in melee combat.
This extends to the sneaking as well. I noticed I am consistently vaulting over cover when I intend to duck into cover. I’m also popping out and exposing myself when I don’t want to, or struggling to get into solid cover in the first place.
And while it’s by no means a huge issue, there’s something odd about the way sprinting works in First Light. I can never quite get Bond to move his ass without bursting into a series of bizarre scrambles.
None of these are deal breakers on their own, but in a (now hypothetical) sequel they would be pain points I would like to see refined in some way.
Next week, we continue with 007 First Light.
